Chelsea given boost in reported pursuit of 2-time league winner (not Pepe)

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are getting slightly concerned that Thibaut Courtois could leave the club this summer…

The Belgian has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent weeks, with Los Blancos seemingly keen to secure a deal for the talented shot-stopper.

Those fears have been allayed somewhat now, though, with Chelsea reportedly receiving somewhat of a boost in the pursuit of a Courtois alternative. According to the Daily Mail, Man City are to turn down any repeat move by Torino for Joe Hart, with the Citizens instead looking to sell him this summer. A fee of around £15 million will apparently be demanded, with the likes of Chelsea and Everton in the running.

This report has delighted the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern, with Hart undoubtedly one of Europe’s most talented goalkeepers. Of course, he struggled in his last season at Man City, and Guardiola saw fit to unceremoniously dump him, but he has regained his composure and form in Italy. Indeed, you don’t get to win the Premier League twice by being a bad player, and Hart is certainly a long way from that.

Whilst the Blues would be unfortunate to lose Courtois, Hart is a more than adequate replacement – with our landlord touting him as a near-perfect player to replace the Belgian. Indeed, even if he doesn’t leave – the Chelsea fans in the pub would like to see him come in as a back-up.
