Despite now being worse off in the league than before interim manager Rafael Benitez took over at Chelsea, talkSPORT report that there could be some good news for the club.
In recent days fans have not only had to contend with the news that David Luiz is Barcelona’s number one summer transfer target according to the Daily Mail but also that the club are willing to let Thibaut Courtois leave permanently in order to land Radamel Falcao – in news reported by Metro.
There is light at the end of the tunnel for Chelsea however and we are not just talking about the imminent departure of the man who makes Avram Grant look like a fan favourite. talkSPORT have claimed that former target Paulinho has decided to consider his future in the summer – placing himself firmly back on the radar at the West London club.
The midfielder is currently at Corinthians and has attracted interest from the European champions in the past. The 24-year-old was coy about his future when asked and claimed that: “I do not know what will happen in June. Nor can I say with certainty that I will stay or go away, we will see. For the time being I am fully concentrated on Corinthians – what happens in the market, in summer or winter, we will see.”
Chelsea of course came away from their Europa League clash with a brilliant result last night against Sparta Prague and Oscar’s vital away goal now puts the Blues in the driving seat to progress to the next round.
