Chelsea fans bring an upbeat atmosphere to their corner of the Football Transfer Tavern after the London Evening Standard linked them with £35 million move for Benfica striker Anderson Talisca as Jose Mourinho prepares for next season.
It is clear that despite the Blues’ success so far this season, Mourinho is not completely happy as he sent scouts out to watch Talisca during Benfica’s 3-0 win over Belenenses.
The Portuguese boss has admired the 20-year-old for some time now and has been monitoring him since he was playing in Brazil for Bahia.
The reason why nothing materialised in the past is because he failed to get work permit, allowing him to join Benfica for just £3.2 million.
It is clear that Mourinho has concerns over the future of his strike1force as it is rumoured that Didier Drogba is hinting to retire at the end of this season.
Benfica have placed a £35 million release clause in his contract and the Blues will face stiff competition for his signature with Manchester United and Arsenal also keen.
But they are confident that their strong relationship with Benfica will help them land Talisca having bought Ramires, Nemanja Matic and David Luiz from the Lisbon giants in the past.
