Their fans may well be watching Galatasaray for former hero Didier Drogba but talkSPORT claim that Chelsea are looking to team-mate Burak Yilmaz as their next transfer target.
The Turkish international forward has been impressive of late and is certainly growing in stature at the Turk-Telekom Arena-based side having netted 25 times since his move from Trabzonspor in the summer. Now the West London club are ready to up the £21 million offer they have seen rejected and want to bring the powerful 27-year-old forward to Stamford Bridge.
It seems that Romelu Lukaku will again be going out on loan next season and with the future of Fernando Torres always somewhat uncertain, that leaves Chelsea with only January transfer window signing Demba Ba up top.
The club of course have been linked heavily with both Radamel Falcao and Edinson Cavani and this latest link seems to have come as a surprise to the player whose agent claims is only aware of interest from Spanish side Atletico Madrid and noted: “Burak knows they play in a major league and are interested. For him, La Liga is the best league in the world and Atleti are one of the big three clubs.”
An Atleti approach for the forward should Falcao leave seems likely and Chelsea may well face a fight to land the forward.
