Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have expressed concern with one story filtering out from the European Championships, which suggests a superstar from the Blues has been involved in some unsavoury reports.
Metro, quoting BeIn Sports, state Chelsea and Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was involved in a ‘heated debate’ with international boss Marc Wilmots on the plane back from the Red Devils opening game against Italy.
Belgium, one of the favourites for the tournament, lost their opening group stage clash with the Italians 2-0, after what was a poor performance from the side recently ranked number one in the world.
Courtois, a senior figure in the Belgian camp, may have upset Wilmots with comments made after the result, as he told Sportwereld:
‘We were outclassed on all fronts. Tactically, technically and organisationally we came up short.’
That seemingly shifted blame onto the management, with Courtois saying the preparation was at fault, which understandably upset Wilmots. Our landlord believes it’s especially concerning for new Blues boss Antonio Conte.
