Chelsea and Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have come to blows after a friendly game of pool took a turn for the worse, with reports filtering through that the Blues have hijacked a major United deal.
The Daily Express states that Manchester United officials travelled to Paris this week to discuss a move for Ezequiel Lavezzi but it’s now reported by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio that the Paris Saint-Germain forward could end up at Chelsea.
Di Marzio states that Lavezzi’s agent, Alessandro Moggi, will be in London today to discuss a move to Stamford Bridge.
Lavezzi is expected to leave PSG this month as he fails to cement a regular starting spot in the Ligue 1 leader’s side, falling out of the pecking order after Angel Di Maria arrived from Manchester United in the summer.
There’s still vast interest from Italy, where Lavezzi previously starred, as his agent revealed earlier this month that Inter Milan are the club showing the most interest in his client.
A move to the Premier League is still a possibility though but United’s chances of landing the forward have been left in tatters by the latest development, which our landlord believes is further evidence of the Red Devil’s recent struggles in the market.
United fans, how gutted will you be if you miss out on Lavezzi? Let us know in the comments below!
