Chelsea hold talks with international manager for vacant position

ConteChelsea fans enjoying a pub lunch to open their weekend in the Transfer Tavern are discussing the latest reports concerning their vacant managerial position, which may be about to be filled.

The Daily Express states Chelsea have held talks Italy boss Antonio Conte about taking charge of the struggling West London side from next season.

Chelsea are currently being led by Guus Hiddink, whom they remain unbeaten under, but the Dutchman was only appointed in a temporary position after Jose Mourinho’s dismissal in December.

Now under pressure to add a top-class boss, especially after the news that Manchester Cith will be led by Pep Guardiola from next year, Chelsea are looking to bring an end to their managerial search.

Conte tops Roman Abramovich’s shortlist, which also includes the Italian boss’ compatriot Massimiliano Allegri and Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone, whilst former Chile boss Jorge Sampaoli and current Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini are also contenders.

Our landlord isn’t convinced by any of the names on the list, bar Pellegrini, as he feels Chelsea need someone with experience in English football.
