Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern aren’t best pleased to hear that a star player has been given permission to leave this summer but it seems their incoming manager has a trick up his sleeve.
Tribal Football state Antonio Conte has identified Inter Milan goalkeeper Samir Handanovic as the ideal successor to Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge, with the Belgian having been given permission to leave Chelsea.
The experienced goalkeeper, who is 31-years-old, has spent the past six years with Inter Milan during an unstable period for the Italian side, where they’ve regularly been absent from Champions League competitions.
With the San Siro outfit failing once again to cement a place in Italy’s top-three this season, the Slovenian international could be tempted to enjoy a new experience in the Premier League and Conte is ready to bid £10m to land the player.
As one of the most reliable goalkeepers across Europe, our landlord believes this would be a bargain for Chelsea and thinks he’d be a suitable replacement for Courtois.
