Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are wondering about how the long-term future of their club will pan out, following reports that state Roman Abramovich has decided upon his ideal boss.
The Daily Express, reporting via Fichajes, state that Chelsea have put Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone top of their wish-list despite Pep Guardiola stating his intention to join a Premier League side at the end of the season.
Chelsea currently have Guus Hiddink in charge of the club until the end of the season, following the decision made a couple of months back to offload under-performing boss Jose Mourinho- a decision which wasn’t popular around the bar.
Since taking charge at Atletico in 2011, Simeone has led the Spanish side to a La Liga title, a Europa League crown, the European Super Cup, a Copa Del Rey and a Spanish Super Cup- as well as reaching the Champions League final.
Despite the availability of Guardiola at the end of the season, Chelsea are looking to snatch Simeone and avoid an all-out fight that will orientate around the signature of Bayern Munich’s Catalan boss.
Chelsea fans, would Simeone lead your side back to glory? Let us know in the comments below!
