Chelsea fans are rather interested at the news coming from the Daily Mail in the Football Transfer Tavern.
As our landlord informs us, the publication seems to be under the impression that the Blues are keen on landing a Paris-Saint Germain star.
Our punters immediately seem to think that this means the club are keen on Edinson Cavani, but for once it is another star – Ezequiel Lavezzi – who is now interesting Jose Mourinho.
Over a pint, we come to the conclusion that it was only a matter of time before the Blues registered an interest in the player that took them apart in the Champions League this season and was not too bad when they faced him in a Napoli shirt either.
One of our regulars makes the quip that it is a shame Chelsea cannot negotiate a two-for-one deal with the Parisian club, given their long standing interest in fellow striker Edinson Cavani.
Mourinho has made no secret of the fact that he needs to bring in at least two forwards this summer, and whilst he is targeting an out-and-out forward, Lavezzi – who is versatile enough to also play out wide – is a huge lure for the Special One.
Is Lavezzi the forward that Chelsea should go all out to land this summer or do they require a true number 9? Let us know your thoughts below.
