The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern don’t know what to make of this…
Chelsea have performed spectacularly this season – and no player has been more impressive than Diego Costa.
Seemingly scoring every week, Diego Costa’s game this season has improved dramatically – and he is now contributing more than ever before. With assists, key passes and goals all crucial to his game – many in the Tavern have called him a complete striker.
One man that likely isn’t enjoying Costa’s run of form so much is second-choice forward Michy Batshuayi.
He has hardly had a look in this season, and so it has come as a real surprise to the Chelsea fans in the Tavern to learn that the Blues are reportedly chasing further attacking depth…
According to Calcio Mercato, Chelsea are keen on Sampdoria striker Luis Muriel – who has impressed this season.
They are reporting that Chelsea are actively scouting the forward, and should he continue to impress – a move next summer appears likely.
The Chelsea fans in the Tavern can’t really get their heads around this deal. Muriel has been good, but 6 goals in Serie A is hardly setting the world alight. What’s more, the reported transfer fee of around €28 million, they feel, is far too much for a player of his quality.
Our landlord thinks that the Blues should stick to Costa and Batshuayi…
