Chelsea leading the race for £140,000-per-week attacker, but there’s bad news for Conte

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate to see their side win the race for Arsenal ace Alexis Sanchez…

The Blues have been linked with a move for the Chilean in recent weeks, with Antonio Conte seemingly desperate to see an attacking line of Alexis Sanchez, Diego Costa and Eden Hazard next season.

Indeed, he has been touted as a dream signing by those in the pub, and so a recent report from the Telegraph, that has suggested that Chelsea have jumped to the front of the queue for the wing wizard, has delighted the Blues in attendance.

However, there is a rather significant issue with Chelsea’s interest. It seems, according to the Telegraph, that Arsenal will do all they can to avoid selling him to the Blues – with Wenger reportedly happy to see his contract move into its final year instead.

Seemingly, a move for Sanchez this summer might just be impossible. Arsenal seem hugely reluctant to sell, and it is easy to see why. The winger, who reportedly earns £140,000-per-week, has scored 18 goals this season – and his performances could increase the gap between Chelsea and Arsenal even more.

Chelsea look likely to seal a Premier League title this season, though a tough challenge comes on Wednesday against Man City. If the Blues can move past Guardiola’s side unscathed, glory could be beckoning.
