The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern want to see Eden Hazard stay this summer – and it appears as though Michael Ballack agrees…
Having spent several years of his career at Stamford Bridge, Michael Ballack knows a thing or two about the club, and recent comments by the former German international certainly seem to suggest that he wants Hazard to remain a Chelsea player this year.
He said, according to the Daily Mail: “At Real Madrid, if you see the players there, it would be a very different position for him”.
Continuing, Ballack said: “In football facts, he is in a good position [at Chelsea] and he won’t have this standing at many other clubs in Europe”.
Of course, Hazard has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent weeks, leaving the Blues in the Transfer Tavern fearful.
Michael Ballack’s points certainly ring true, with Hazard undoubtedly the focal point of the Chelsea first team. At Real Madrid, he would likely be more of a secondary or even tertiary figure – and he may find that adjustment difficult.
Hazard has played 28 games in the Premier League this season, scoring 13 times and assisting 5 times.
