Chelsea legend’s transfer to Serie A still not a formality

Didier DrogbaChelsea fans are looking up excitedly here in the Football Transfer Tavern as Tuttosport claim that Didier Drogba is still waiting on an offer from Juventus.

This is because we had assumed a deal was done and dusted between the former Blues forward and the Serie A champions and thus Drogba would not be returning to Stamford Bridge – this season at least.

However, with a deal yet to be signed between the two parties and Jose Mourinho yet to bring in another forward to take some of the pressure off Diego Costa, some of our most optimistic Chelsea fans are hoping the sensational return could still happen.

Jose Mourinho knows that he has to bring in another forward and the Blues have been linked with a variety of players including Paris Saint-Germain’s Ezequiel Lavezzi and Fenerbahce’s Emmanuel Emenike.

As one of our punters points out over a pint, Chelsea still have the likes of Fernando Torres and Demba Ba on their books, although a loan spell for the latter looks on the cards with Everton monitoring the situation closely.

Chelsea fans. After seeing Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole leave, would a return for Drogba be something to cherish or has his time been and gone? Let us know your thoughts below.
