Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are getting excited about what new changes could be coming this summer, amidst speculation that two big-name strikers are being targeted.
The Guardian states Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen to land Alvaro Morata from former employers Juventus and is willing to pay £40m to get the deal across the line- but it’s not the only big-name forward he wants to bring to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea also want to bring Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge from Everton, with the Belgian eyed as part of a new-look strike force that the Blues will hope can conquer the Premier League once more and erase the embarrassment from their awful displays last season.
Morata is more than likely on the move this summer as speculation suggests Real Madrid will activate a buy-back clause in the Spanish forward’s contract with Juventus, before selling the striker on to raise funds for their own transfer activity.
Chelsea themselves want to move swiftly though and aim to complete the signing before the European Championships kick-off on Friday but our landlord believes that deadline is impossible to keep to.
Will Morata and Lukaku up front win Chelsea the Premier League? Let us know in the comments below!
