Metro have a rather interesting story for our Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they note that the Blues could well be about to bid for a forward.
Just after expressing his faith in Fernando Torres and receiving Romelu Lukaku back to the club from his loan spell at West Bromwich Albion, Jose Mourinho now seems to be flirting with Turkish international forward Burak Yilmaz who plays for Galatasaray.
Mourinho knows the forward well after his former side Real Madrid faced the Istanbul giants in the latter stages of the Champions League last term- and very nearly beat them.
We all know that Chelsea are dying for another forward and it seems that the player who Mourinho claimed ‘could play for any side in the world’ and is ‘world class’ could well be his number one target.
In news that would be music to Mourinho’s ears, Galatasaray claimed that for the right price, they were willing to sell the forward who has his eye on a move to the Premier League.
The club noted that: “We have set a price for Burak Yılmaz, we will only consider an offer which is in the best interests of the club and player.
“If Burak wants to leave and our transfer demands are matched we could accept a deal.”
Former Jose favourite Didier Drogba could of course offer the forward some tips on playing at Chelsea if he decides to move.
After losing out on Radamel Falcao and Edinson Cavani, will Chelsea now move for Yilmaz? Let us know your thoughts below.
