Prospective new Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is set to cause raised eyebrows here at the Football Transfer Tavern as the Daily Star claim that the manager is after Zenit St Petersburg striker Hulk.
Chelsea fans have long asked for their former manager and their Special One back and it seems that this summer that could well happen. Thankfully for all concerned, interim manager Rafael Benitez is set to depart at the end of the season after becoming the least popular manager of the Roman Abramovich era and that is saying something.
One thing Mourinho has requested should he agree to return to the Blues is the Hulk. The former Porto forward is fed up with life in Russia and is looking for a move to either La Liga or the Premier League and Mourinho has placed him at the top of his list. Given that price and reputation mean little to Mourinho, it seems that Fernando Torres will be out of the club in the summer and whilst Demba Ba has made a good impression, he is not the all-star forward Mourinho feels is needed to bring the club back to their glory days.
Should Chelsea make a bid for the player it may well cost them given the Hulk cost Zenit £42 million when they bought him only last September.
