Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are fearing the worst after the London Evening Standard explained how Thorgan Hazard is considering leaving the Blues on a permanent transfer.
The 21-year-old who is of course brother to Eden Hazard is pondering a permanent move to current loan club Borussia Monchengladbach next summer having settled into life in Germany seamlessly.
The Belgian youngster is yet to feature in Chelsea’s first team since joining from Lens in 2012.
Since this transfer he has enjoyed two years on loan at Belgian side Zulte Waregem before joining Monchengladbach on a season-long loan in July.
He has shown glimpses of exceptional talent and he won Player of the Year in Belgium last term, also recently scoring his first goal in the Bundesliga against Hertha Berlin last weekend.
To match his happiness in Germany, Borussia are equally as keen to secure Hazard’s permanent transfer.
Hazard said: “It’s an option to stay at Gladbach longer. But it’s just too early to talk about it now.
“The decision will be made towards the end of the season. I feel great here.”
