West Bromwich Albion youngster Isaiah Brown is the talk of the Football Transfer Tavern this afternoon with the Daily Star reporting that Chelsea and Arsenal are battling to sign the 16-year-old striker with the Blues having taken the lead in the race to land his services.
The 6 ft 0 in forward, who became the second youngest player in Premier League history when he made his debut for the Baggies against Wigan Athletic in May, could be available this summer with professional terms still yet to be signed at The Hawthorns.
Baggies manager Steve Clarke is understandably eager to keep his England youth international and wants him to sign his first professional contract when he turns 17 in January but with the top sides looking at the teenager they could be facing a losing battle.
The Baggies are expected to want around £3 million with further performance add-ons to seal the wonderkid and Chelsea are understood to be in pole position given their willingness to spend money on the finest young talents around Europe.
Should the 16-year-old make the big move away or stay with the Baggies for the time being? Let us know your thoughts below.
