Chelsea man could yet seal PL switch (not Batshuayi)

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern haven’t had the best start to the January transfer window…

Given that the Blues have impressed in the Premier League this season, Antonio Conte’s incoming business this month was always expected to be limited, but given the relatively small size of Chelsea’s squad, the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern were certainly not expecting there to be so much emphasis on potential player departures this month.

Belgian forward Michy Batshuayi has been linked with a move away, whilst both Oscar and John Obi Mikel have both already departed – and it would appear as though another player could yet leave.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea captain John Terry is to meet Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe this week – with the Cherries’ boss hoping to convince the England veteran to make the switch to the Vitality Stadium.

Howe is reportedly hoping to get Terry on loan for the rest of the season, with the Chelsea skipper unlikely to feature much for the Blues as the season goes on.

This report conflicts with an earlier report by Sky Sports that suggested that Terry will stay at Stamford Bridge this month – leaving many in the Tavern concerned that the Terry saga could drag on for weeks.

Whilst our landlord is not expecting a deal to go through, the constant reports coming out on the topic would certainly reaffirm the fact that Bournemouth are keen, and given that the Cherries managed to land Jack Wilshere earlier in the year – anything is possible.
