Chelsea man speaks out on Conte, reveals his expectations for the season ahead

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern were delighted with Charly Musonda’s cameo against Arsenal on Sunday…

Whilst the game was not a very positive one for the Blues, most fans were looking forward to getting a glimpse of the young Belgian in action, and he certainly did not disappoint.

Showing off his dribbling and technical ability, the midfielder looks like a real talent, and after the game, he spoke to DH and discussed both Antonio Conte and his aspirations for the coming season.

On Conte, he said: “My coach has the right words in terms of encouragement”, which certainly seems to suggest that Antonio Conte is ready to utilise him over the course of the coming season.

He also has big plans for the next few months, it seems: “I hope this little sample will be repeated because I want to assert myself here even if it will be hard, but a season is a very long time”.

Clearly, Musonda is very happy with his start to life back in London, and he looks desperate to make an impact under Conte. His involvement at the weekend certainly suggests that he will be given a chance this year, but he must take it if he wants to become a regular at Stamford Bridge.

Landlord’s Verdict

Charly Musonda is one of the most talented players within the Chelsea academy, and clearly Antonio Conte rates him. With so many players being loaned out, it takes a special talent to make the cut – and Musonda clearly has the talent.

He is quick, technical and a fantastic dribbler, and that much was clear when he came on against Arsenal.

That said, he lacks the physicality that is typically required in the Premier League, and so that is certainly something that he needs to work on this season. Conte wants to give him a chance, though, and he needs to impress early on.
