Chelsea and Arsenal have had differing seasons this term but both have suffered elements of disappointment on the whole, and they will be looking to go again come the summer with some new blood in their squads.
While the Blues have failed to maintain a title challenge following last year’s success, the Gunners have once again come under fire for their frailties, and manager Arsene Wenger continues to live a charmed life in the eyes of some fans.
Here in the Tavern, our landlord thinks there could well be some movement between a few clubs in the top flight this summer, and he thinks one Chelsea man who needs to consider a move is midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, who has struggled massively since moving to the Bridge last summer.
However, our gaffer thinks he could be the sort of player Arsenal need to capture, and if Wenger can get him playing back to his best, then he could well prove to be a shrewd signing indeed.
Despite his poor form for the club this year, he does have plenty of ability, and is a strong and powerful presence in the middle of the park, something the Gunners have missed for a considerable number of years now.
Bakayoko himself will want to prove his worth, and if Chelsea do decide to cash in, what better way to do it than making the switch across London? We have seen previously this sort of move work out, as William Gallas demonstrated a while back, and it could well prove to be the making of Bakayoko if a move can be sorted.
Chelsea and Arsenal fans, what do you think? Good move? Let us know in the comments!
