Chelsea, Man United and Arsenal receive boost as quality defender considers exit

MarquinhosFans from three of the Premier League’s elite clubs have been united in their excitement today after it was revealed a quality defensive target is considering a transfer this summer.

The Daily Star, citing reports from Canal+quotes the brother of Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos as confirming the Brazilian is in talks with the French giants regarding a summer departure.

“There are a lot of clubs who are interested in Marquinhos. They have already spoken with me. With the club, Marquinhos’ agent, myself and my father we will make a decision.”

The young defender has struggled to earn regular starting opportunities in his favoured central-defensive position due to competition with compatriots David Luiz and Thiago Silva, which has intensified speculation he could leave.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are amongst the English parties eyeing his signature and the player himself hinted at a Premier League switch recently.

“The Premier League is the number one best league in the world. It’s very competitive football. It’d be fantastic to have this opportunity one day.”

It’s unlikely that PSG would let the young defender go cheaply and our landlord feels a high price would have to be paid, potentially even a figure that breaks transfer records.
