Chelsea & Man United want teen ace who made Serie A debut at 15 (not Donnarumma)

“When I was 15 I could barely tie my own shoelaces”, quipped one Transfer Tavern regular up by the bar when our landlord revealed that calciomercato.com are reporting that Manchester United and Chelsea are keen on Genoa’s teenage sensation Pietro Pellegri.

The young forward made his debut in Serie A at the age of 15 in December when he came on as a late substitute as his side were beaten 1-0 by Torino, making him the joint-youngest debutant in the division’s history.

And calciomercato.com claim that his potential has not gone unnoticed, with Man United and Chelsea two of a host of Premier League teams keen on the starlet, while there is also serious interest from Juventus and Monaco.

However, Genoa are reluctant to let the now 16-year-old leave the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, with a new deal being lined up for him.

Despite his young age, Pellegri stands at 6ft. 5”, so he has a surprising level of presence.

The Genoa starlet is not the only teenager making waves in Serie A, with Gianluigi Donnarumma already AC Milan’s No.1 and a full Italy international despite being just 18.

Interestingly, Man United and Chelsea have both been aligned with the Rossoneri prospect, too.
