There are some raised eyebrows here in the Football Transfer Tavern after our landlord tells us of the claim coming from the Daily Express and the £20 million price tag placed on Alex Song.
As one of our punters points out over a pint, Song is currently in limbo at Barcelona with new boss Luis Enrique looking to sell him so that the Catalan giants can buy reinforcements this summer.
Should potential suitors Chelsea or Manchester United wish to oblige and buy the Cameroon international star, they will have to fork out a large amount of cash.
We are not sure that Song is really worth so much money and there are definitely better options out there for both Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal.
We even think that Barcelona will have to lower that price tag by at least £5 million should they want to sell Song at all.
After an awful spell at the Camp Nou, Song’s stock has fallen somewhat and we cannot see many clubs in the Premier League paying over the odds for him.
Chelsea and Manchester United fans. Do you think £20 million is about right for the player or are Barcelona just living in a deluded world? Let us know your thoughts below.
