Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas has offered a heart-warming tribute to captain John Terry after he announced he would leave the club earlier this week and it’s gotten some of our Blues fans here in the Tavern a little watery-eyed!
Terry has been captain of Chelsea for years but it really does spell the end of an era this summer, when the Blues chief will move on for pastures new.
The news sent shockwaves through the Blues fans lining the bar here in the pub but they’re confident he’ll be back in a coaching capacity sometime in the near future.
And it wasn’t just the fans who will be sad to see him go, after midfielder Cesc Fabregas offered a warm tribute to the former England man on Talksport.
“It is a shame because I cannot see anyone replacing the role he does in the team. He is irreplaceable for now,” he said.
And the Spain star also said the team will try and win as much silverware as possible this season for Terry, who is struggling for games in the first-team.
“We will miss him but hopefully, we can lift trophies at the end of the season for him,” Fabregas added.
