The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been drowning their sorrows over the last day or so, having learnt the news that Eden Hazard is likely to miss out on the start of Chelsea’s title defence through injury…
Having suffered an ankle injury whilst training with the Belgian national side, Hazard is said to have broken his ankle, potentially leaving him out of action for up to 3 months.
However, never one to be downbeat, Hazard has since taken to Twitter to reflect upon the injury, whilst also detailing that surgery on the operation was a success. Indeed, the Belgian is seemingly feeling confident – and he looks ready to come back and be even better next season.
See what he had to say below…
Everything went well with my ankle operation, now I start the road to recovery! I will be stronger. Thank you for your support!! pic.twitter.com/aokirnytkW

Whilst the fans in the Transfer Tavern are pleased that his road to recovery is already underway, many are still terrified that the blow could seriously disrupt Chelsea’s plans for next season.
Not only could a 3-month long injury mean that he misses the start of the season, but it will also mean that he is unlikely to have any involvement during Chelsea’s pre-season – immediately putting him on the back foot ahead of the next campaign.
With so many games coming up for the Blues, fitness will be key – and Hazard is going to have to work very hard to catch up with his teammates.
