The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting to see a lot more of Nathaniel Chalobah next season…
The Englishman rejoined the Blues’ first team squad after several years on loan last season, and with a full year in the playing squad under his belt, next season could be the making of the Englishman at Stamford Bridge.
However, if Torino have their way, he could leave the Blues this summer. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Chalobah features on a shortlist of potential Torino targets, with the Italian side reportedly keen to improve their squad this summer.
Chalobah, of course, previously spent a year in Italy with Napoli, where he became a useful if underutilised member of the first team squad.
Last season, when he featured, Chalobah looked good and ready to play more regularly, though that is likely to be difficult at Chelsea next year. Tiemoue Bakayoko has been touted with a move to Stamford Bridge, potentially pushing Chalobah further down the pecking order.
That being said, Torino’s interest at present is just that – interest. There is no mention of an impending move, and so the Englishman will likely have an opportunity to impress during pre-season.
