Frank Lampard’s future is up in the air, which has got us speculating here at the Football Transfer Tavern, especially now that sources at Sky Sports have let slip that he may not even see out the season at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez has been unable to offer any assurances that Lampard will see out the season at Stamford Bridge – news that has put the likes of Arsenal and QPR on red alert. LA Galaxy and Paris Saint Germain will also look to tempt the 34-year-old abroad.
When asked if Lampard would be involved in the new year, the Spaniard responded:
“The future of players is always the same. I can’t say too much. He is fully committed to every training session and every game.
“He is an important player for us but I can’t say too much about how he feels (regarding his future). I’m happy with his attitude.”
With Benitez doing little to reaffirm that the striker will remain in West London, this is likely to prove music to the ears of the likes of QPR who boast family ties with the player. Lampard is indeed the nephew of recently appointed Hoops boss Harry Redknapp,
