Chelsea’s season has gotten off to a superb start, with the Blues unbeaten so far under Mauro Sarri and looking every bit the title contenders their fans want them to be this term.
Sarri has worked his magic to get the Blues playing some superb football, and despite being held by West Ham last weekend, things are going as well as he could have possibly hoped for since making his move to the Bridge from Italian giants Napoli over the summer.
However, there are certain players within the Chelsea squad who in the next few years might well be seeing their careers in England begin to slow down, and one player in that category might well be experienced Spanish defender Cesar Azpilicueta.
Despite only being 29, we at the Tavern think a new right back might well help ‘Azpi’ prolong his career, and we believe signing £20.7m-rated Monaco star Djibril Sidibe would be a superb move by the club.
The flying French full back has been superb over a number of seasons now for both club and country, and a move to England would seem to be the next step in his career, following in the footsteps of former Monaco stars like Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy, who have been superb for Man City since making their move to the Premier League.
Sidibe possesses tremendous pace, power, and athleticism down the right hand side, and he would not doubt be a huge favourite with the Blues fans if a move could be negotiated.
Chelsea fans, what do you think? Would Sidibe be a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
