Metro note that Chelsea may not be done with their summer spending yet, after club executve Ron Gourlay admitted a couple more players were on the radar at Stamford Bridge.
After the signings of Willian and Samuel Eto’o, we thought the West London club were done for the summer.
Now however it seems that at least one more player may well be arriving this summer.
Jose Mourinho’s men are on the lookout for a centre back and have also been heavily linked with Porto’s Christian Atsu (pictured) in recent days.
Now Gourlay has noted: “We have always said we are always looking to strengthen, but it’s all about the right players being available at the right time.
“We are always looking to strengthen the team and there could be one, maybe two, but we are looking at a couple maybe going out on loan to continue their development as we have a fairly big squad.
“I would expect maybe a little bit of activity in the next couple of days before the window closes.”
As one of our punters quips, should more new arrivals come into the club, further doubt will be cast over the futures of not only Juan Mata but also striking duo Demba Ba and Fernando Torres to boot.
Do Chelsea need strengthening in any more positions or is their squad ready to battle on four fronts? Let us know your thoughts below.
