Chelsea fans are smiling like Cheshire cats here in the Football Transfer Tavern after Sky Sports‘ latest confirmation only added to their perfect weekend.
The Blues have not only seen Manchester City lose at home, beaten Everton, scored six goals and gotten rid of Fernando Torres but also signed Loic Remy from Queens Park Rangers on a four-year deal.
Jose Mourinho had been casting his eye around to get those all important three ready-made forwards established in his squad and seems to be pleased with his choice.
Remy meanwhile had attracted interest from Arsenal and failed a medical at Liverpool before his miraculous recovery in time to sign for Chelsea.
Remy claimed: “I feel very happy and very proud.
“When I heard Chelsea wanted to sign me I said ‘let’s go’.”
The Blues still have a massive issue to solve in terms of having one more foreign player on their books than they are currently allowed and as one of our punters notes over a pint, we think Petr Cech could well be the one to leave before the transfer window closes.
Chelsea fans. Will Remy be a hit like Costa or a flop like Torres? Let us know your thoughts below.
