Chelsea OUT IN FRONT in race to secure Arsenal transfer target

Marco Reus Chelsea and Jose Mourinho are leading the race for the Premier League title and as our regulars point out, they are also looking like winning another race according to the Daily Express.

The publication seem to think that the Blues are right at the front of the queue when it comes to landing Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund and it is all down to the bargaining chip of Andre Schurrle who is highly coveted by the Bundesliga side.

The Chelsea forward is someone Jurgen Klopp has identified as a top target to help turnaround their season after remarkably falling into the Bundesliga relegation zone despite their stature as a club.

With the £25 million release clause in Schurrle’s contract, not to mention the fact that he is spending an increasing amount of time on the sidelines after being overlooked by Mourinho this season, we think it is a deal that could well happen.

Reus has made it very clear he wants to leave Signal Iduna Park and it seems that despite the huge amount of clubs courting him – including Real Madrid – the 25-year-old could well be on his way to Stamford Bridge.

Should Schurrle be used in a swap deal, it would certainly be a massive blow to the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, both of whom are reportedly interested in the former Bayer Leverkusen star.
