A forgotten face in the Football Transfer Tavern is that of Chelsea star Florent Malouda who hasn’t been seen all season at Stamford Bridge. Therefore it’s not too much of a surprise to see him being linked with a move away from London with French side Evian lining up a move for the former Les Blues international.
According to Metro, Ligue 1 relegation strugglers Evian want Malouda, 32, to add some essential experience to their ranks. He has been frozen out at Stamford Bridge and his last appearance for Chelsea actually came in the Champions League final when he replaced young Ryan Bertrand midway through the second half.
Malouda was forced to train with Chelsea’s youth team by former coach Roberto Di Matteo and his successor Rafael Benitez has also failed to give him a chance since arriving at the club in November.
After five-and-a-half years at Stamford Bridge, Malouda is sure to have some good memories from his time in England but it could be now coming to an end with Evian preparing to take him back to his home country .
French sources suggest that the two club’s have already been in contact as they look to get their transfer business completed early in the window.
