Chelsea outline plans to land sensational £58m addition

James RodriguezChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern haven’t had much to celebrate this season but they’ve ordered a bottle of bubbly to celebrate some exciting reports.

Don Balon says the Blues are looking to get around the negatives on losing Eden Hazard by landing Colombian superstar James Rodriguez as part of the deal.

Premier League Player of the Year Hazard has been heavily linked to Real Madrid in recent months, as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, and it seems an exit for the Belgian from Stamford Bridge is inevitable.

Real Madrid are not keen on a deal and value the player at £58m but Chelsea hold the grumpy cards, whilst they could persuade Rodriguez to leave the Santiago Bernabeu with the offer of regular first-team football that he’s not guaranteed with the La Liga side.

With the likes of Isco, Gareth Bale, Mateo Kovacic and Toni Kroos in their ranks, James is facing a constant battle to land first-team football. Perhaps crucially, the Colombian shares the same agent with Jose Mourinho- Jorge Mendes.

Chelsea fans, would you swap Hazard for James Rodriguez? Let us know in the comments below!
