Chelsea owner decides future of under-fire manager

mourinhoooo!Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are reacting to news that suggests the scrutiny over the future of their manager has been settled, at least for the time being.

Goal state Roman Abramovich has made the decision to stick with Jose Mourinho, largely down to the fact that top-targets Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone are not available until the summer at the earliest.

Chelsea are languishing in 16th position in the Premier League, just three points above the drop-zone, with the weekend’s loss to Stoke City handing the Blues a seventh defeat in their opening 12 matches of the league campaign.

Mourinho received backing from the board last month but the Blues have lost three of their four league games since, as well as being knocked out of the League Cup, with pressure upon the Portuguese manager continuing to rise.

Chelsea sit 13 points behind the top-four, facing a daunting challenge to qualify for the Champions League, but Abramovich will stick with Mourinho for the time being, at least.

With Norwich City and AFC Bournemouth awaiting the West London outfit, either side of a huge clash against Tottenham Hotspur, fans are hopeful some progression will be made swiftly.

Chelsea fans, is sticking with Mourinho the right call? Will he last until the New Year? Let us know in the comments below!
