Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are reacting to news that their owner is getting involved in the club’s transfer business, after it was reported Roman Abramovich had identified a prime January target.
Italian outlet TMW state Abramovich made a personal call to Lazio as he attempts to complete a move for Antonion Candreva, who is likely to call an end to his three-and-a-half years with the Italian outfit next year.
The 28-year-old has pace, dribbling ability and flair that will go down will with Chelsea supporters, who are in desperate need of a boost as they look to turn around their disastrous start to the season.
Chelsea sit 16th in the Premier League, three points above the relegation zone and already 13 points behind the top-four, so it’s no surprise to see Abramovich getting his hands dirty in an attempt to turn things around.
However fans are unconvinced by this, as the last time Abramovich got involved with a transfer it involved Andriy Shevchenko- who proved to be a big-money flop in the Premier League.
Chelsea fans, is Candreva good enough? Should Abramovich leave transfers to his manager? Let us know in the comments below!
