Chelsea place new manager top of summer wish-list

AllegriChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have spent a lot of time drinking to forget their woes this season and a lot of the talk has been about which manager will come into save their lacklustre side in the summer.

With Guus Hiddink only on a temporary deal, Chelsea will once again be looking for a new manager at the end of the season and the latest reports suggest a new manager has been placed top of their wish-list.

The Sun state Maximiliano Allegri has been made Chelsea’s first-choice this summer, with the Blues having already contacted the Juventus boss this month to discuss a potential move.

48-year-old Allegri has two Serie A titles, one with AC Milan and another with Juventus, whilst also leading the Turin side to an Italian double last season and the Champions League final, where they lost to Barcelona.

Atletico Madrid Diego Simeone was previously regarded as the ideal candidate to come in but it’s now stated Chelsea have cooled that pursuit, with concerns regarding the Argentine’s management style and whether he would leave his current Spanish employers.

Our landlord believes Allegri is a very good choice for Chelsea but he isn’t quite sure if the Italian boss can provide the overhaul that the Blues need, pointing out that he still hasn’t replaced Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal in Turin.

Chelsea fans, would Allegri be a good choice for your next boss? Let us know in the comments below!
