Roman Abramovich is taking no chances with the league this season and plans on spending big in order to break Manchester United’s strong hold on the trophy.
The Sun are reporting that at the top of the list is Sergio Aguero, who in the past few days has changed his tune about a move to England. Also on the list is Monaco defensive midfielder Jerko Leko.
Abramovich refuses to be held to ransom though and if those deals fail to materialise he will look to Ajax’s Uruguay forward Luis Suarez, Roma’s Daniele De Rossi and Everton starlet Jack Rodwell.
Chelsea have stuttered of late after looking near invincible as they demolished Arsenal and with the African Cup of Nations approaching, Abramovich and Ancelotti will hope to retain their place at the top of the table in the absence of stars Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, Jon Obi Mikel and Solomon Kalou. So a dip into the transfer market could do the job.
[Is there any substance to this and should this rumour Fly or Die?]
