According to The Express, Chelsea are lining up a shock £48 million bid for Livepool’s Raheem Sterling as they look to capture one of England’s brightest talents.
The 19-year-old is currently negotiating a new deal with the Reds but these talks are very much in their infancy meaning a move elsewhere could become a high possibility.
Sterling is believed to be close to receiving a five-year deal from the Reds which will see the teenager earn £100,000-per-week.
Brendan Rodgers is treating the situation with care as he is already aware of interest from European giants Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
Sterling is supposedly unsure on where his future lies and is reportedly considering life away from Anfield.
This has left punters in the tavern with the feeling that a move to Chelsea could be ideal because it would be a fresh start for Sterling in a Jose Mourinho side which is looking unstoppable.
But Liverpool fans have been arguing that the player will remain loyal and if talks were to breakdown between the club and player, Sterling would opt for a move elsewhere in Europe rather than move to one of Liverpool’s Premier League rivals.
