Our resident Chelsea supporting punters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are interested in the news filtering in from Fichajes, with the publication suggesting that Chelsea are extremely interested in a move for Marseille defender Nicolas N’Koulou, who is also a target for Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United.
The 25-year-old’s name has been bandied around the Transfer Tavern several times over the last few transfer windows, with him often being touted with a move to a Premier League side.
With John Terry leaving Chelsea in the summer, the Blues will need to invest in a new centre-back to fill the sizeable void that will be left by the defender – and it seems that Cameroon-born N’Koulou could be the man to replace him.
Our landlord here in the Transfer Tavern thinks that the former Monaco centre-back would be a perfect acquisition for Chelsea, and would help solidify the club’s backline, and ultimately help them launch a serious push for the Premier League title.
Our resident Blues fans are liking the sound of this potential deal, and if they could beat Manchester United to his signature, that would make the transfer all the more sweeter!
