Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are getting excited as the Daily Star reveal they are closing in on Corinthians wonderkid Malcom Silva as they consider making a £20 million bid.
The 17-year-old is considered the next big thing in South American football and he is wanted by several of Europe’s elite clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal and Barcelona.
This massive amount of interest has led to numerous rumours flying around the tavern with one suggesting that Barca have secured the first option to sign the teenager.
Jose Mourinho will hope his growing number of Brazilian players will help lure Silva to Stamford Bridge over their transfer rivals.
Filipe Luis, Oscar, Ramires and Willian are of course already part of Jose Mourinho’s impressive first team squad, not to mention Blues starlets Wallace and Lucas Piazon who are currently out on loan.
Despite all the heavyweights looking to tie him down, Corinthians are hopeful of keeping hold of him and have slapped down a £20 million price tag designed to ward off potential bids.
Chelsea fans. Would you gamble and offer £20 million for a 17-year-old or is this a ridiculous amount of money to pay for someone who is likely to be loaned out immediatley? Let us know your thoughts below.
