Chelsea plot £30m swoop for highly-rated forward

BaccaChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have had their heads turned this afternoon, away from the weekly darts tournament, by suggestions that the West London side are preparing big-money arrivals.

The Express, citing reports from Gazzetta Dello Sport, states that Chelsea are ready to make a move and land Colombian forward Carlos Bacca from AC Milan.

Chelsea have struggled in front of goal this season with Diego Costa only just starting to find form, whilst Loic Remy has failed to make an impression and Radamel Falcao’s Premier League nightmare has dragged on.

With the Blues in the hunt for a forward, it’s stated Chelsea are prepared to lodge £30m for Bacca and will pay a premium as the South American star is eligible to play in the club’s Champions League campaign.

Barca only arrived in the summer after helping Sevilla to Europa League success, and subsequent Champions League qualification, but has helped the struggling Italian giants in their quest to return to the pinnacle of European competition.

With nine goals in 21 outings, it isn’t the most solid of a scoring record but our landlord believes Bacca is one of the best out there that is able to feature in the Blues European charge.

Chelsea fans, would Bacca replace Diego Costa or be back-up? Let us know in the comments below!
