Chelsea poised to swoop for former Blues star this summer?

There’s some very jubilant Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern this evening.

That comes after the The Mirror reported that the West London club would be welcoming club legend Didier Drogba back to Stamford Bridge.

The Ivorian is out of contract at Turkish club Galatasaray this summer and will join up with Jose Mourinho’s team after the World Cup.

Drogba will initially arrive at the club as a player before moving into a coaching role in a season or two.

He will likely come as back-up for £32 million signing Diego Costa who is thought to be days away from confirming his Chelsea move.

And he could be joined by fellow Atletico Madrid player Miranda as Mourinho looks for a defender as reliable cover for first choice pairing of John Terry and Gary Cahill.
