The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Diego Costa returns to goal scoring form when they play Manchester United today to end a barren run in front of goal.
Diego Costa has struggled for form and lost his confidence in front of goal recently.
The Spanish international striker’s last goal for Chelsea came in the 2-1 win against West Ham United in early March and he is currently five league games without netting.
The 28-year-old was the subject of major interest from the Chinese Super League in January but Chelsea resisted all offers for their star man.
However, following his dip in form, they are now apparently willing to offload him to Tianjin Quanjian or Guangzhou Evergrande, according to an exclusive report by The Express.
As part of a one in, one out transfer move up front, Chelsea want to replace misfiring Costa with Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
The 24-year-old is likely to cost the Blues £50m despite not being a regular in the Real Madrid side.
Currently behind Karim Benzema in the pecking order, the Spain international has netted 12 goals in 21 league games for Real Madrid, despite only starting 10 of those.
Our landlord is curious to see how Morata would cope in the Premier League.
