Chelsea have now joined the race to sign an upcoming English superstar which has built up excitement in the Football Transfer Tavern.
According to the Daily Star, Ross Barkley is now wanted by Jose Mourinho as Everton look to hold out for £50 million.
It has been well discussed by the punters in the tavern that Manchester City had also been keen to snap up the Toffees youngster.
Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini is said to be willing to only offer £35 million for him but Mourinho plans to brush that bid aside as he is willing to pay the full £50 million that Everton want.
Chelsea have also formed a good relationship with the Toffees after selling them Romelu Lukaku and loaning them Ghanaian international Christian Atsu in the summer.
But this £50 million price tag could change and depends on whether or not Barkley can still maintain his good form when he returns from his long-term injury.
