Chelsea preparing to revive deal for former striker, number one target not looking likely

The Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are excited to welcome Antonio Conte to the club as the new manager, after an impressive spell at club level with Juventus.

The Italian boss’ immediate task will be to revive the club’s fortunes following a dismal tenth place finish during the 2015/16 campaign, and several players are set to arrive at the club during the summer months.

Our landlord has spotted some potentially exciting news for fans of the Blues, courtesy of the Daily Mail, who are reporting that Conte could be keen on securing a deal for their former striker Romelu Lukaku.

Conte’s number one striking target is Spain striker Alvaro Morata but with Real Madrid keen to hand him a chance to shine, the Everton powerhouse could be a more realistic option for Chelsea to pursue.

One Chelsea fan is sat by the fruit machine and he thinks that the Blues would be wise to bring back Lukaku, as he knows the league and wouldn’t require a settling in period at the club.

Chelsea fans, would you welcome Lukaku back to the Bridge? Who else should Conte target this summer?
