Chelsea ready swoop for Champions League eligible striker

BaccaChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have surrounded the pool tables this afternoon as they enjoy a Saturday away from football, with their FA Cup third round tie not taking place until the summer.

In Guus Hiddink’s quest to improve the form of the underperforming West London side, Fichajes state that the Dutch boss is ready to swoop for AC Milan forward Carlos Bacca.

Chelsea’s striking contingent has struggled this season, with Diego Costa failing to replicate the form he showed in his inaugural season in England, Loic Remy struggling for chances and Radamel Falcao’s second  year in the Premier League being a continuation of his Manchester United nightmare.

Perhaps crucially in the deal, Bacca would be eligible for the latter stages of Chelsea’s Champions League campaign and Hiddink is keen to complete a deal for the Colombian international who has scored nine goals this season.

Our landlord thinks Bacca would be quite a risk, as he hasn’t quite shone in Milan, and that Chelsea could get better bang for their buck.

Chelsea fans, would Bacca improve your attack? Let us know in the comments below!
