There are a number of plays at Chelsea that haven’t been given much of a chance lately, and with January quickly approaching – it would appear as though Antonio Conte is ready to move them on.
According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Chelsea have offered veteran midfield John Obi Mikel to Italian giants Inter Milan – with the Blues seemingly keen to do a deal in January ahead of Mikel’s contract expiry in the summer.
The news has come as no surprise to the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern, with Mikel yet to play a minute for the Blues this season.
John Obi Mikel has been a long-standing servant at Stamford Bridge, with the Nigerian only behind John Terry as Chelsea’s longest serving player. In that time he has won it all, including a number of Premier League medals and a handful of FA Cups.
Our landlord thinks that a deal for Mikel makes a lot of sense.
