It seems that Fernando Torres is mentioned in the Football Transfer Tavern at least once a week.
And this week is no exception with the Daily Star reporting that Chelsea are trying to finally flog the Spanish flop.
Reports claim that the West London outfit are willing to let the 30-year-old forward leave Stamford Bridge this summer and reports suggest that Atletico Madrid are keen to re-sign the former Liverpool striker.
Atletico’s chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin is said to have been in London last weekend discussing a possible deal for the former Liverpool star.
Chelsea fans will not be too disappointed to see him leave having never truly found the form that he showed at Liverpool.
But apparently Atletico Madrid are still keen on making a bid of £13 million for Torres – a bid that Chelsea are apparently willing to accept.
Torres began his career with the Spanish club and scored 91 goals in 244 appearances for the La Liga champions.
He made 174 appearances for Chelsea scoring 45 goals in the process.
Chelsea fans: Is the time right for Torres to leave Stamford Bridge and is £13 million a fair deal? Let us know your thoughts below.
